November 20th 2025 - Science Cult RadioScience Cult Radio 050: Machine Emotion
Sometimes you love something so much you don’t feel worthy of it. Electro music is one of those things for Tomas Jirku. It was always an influence in his decades of music making, as he explored genres with the limitless possibilities afforded by software production, but it wasn’t until he surrounded himself with music making machines that he felt he could do justice to electro as Machine Emotion.
Present still is the deep sound design he’s become known for through his epic ambient and experimental techno releases, but it is now infused with the gritty edge of industrial and freaky sensibilities of IDM.
His new 1NF1L7RA70R EP on Science Cult is an homage to his formative years in the BBS/demo/hacker scene of the 90’s, where and when tracker music was the leading edge of democratizing electronic music for bedroom producers to explore and experiment.
